Porosity | Rasheed Jalloul

Co-organized by Fundacio Enric Miralles and Eina Idea,Porosity stems from a dialogue between Manuel Cirauqui and Rasheed Jalloul, in conjunction with the latter’s residency at Fundacio Enric Miralles. Porosity is part of the Model Fest Barcelona – the first architecture-related festival of its kind in the city.

As a resident at the Fundació Enric Miralles Rasheed is currently developing research exploring gravity as a moderator of geometry, “a metronome of form”. His work attempts to uncover new and unconventional “scales” of understanding, derived by integrating a synesthetic language of architecture and music, where spatial construction aligns with linguistic semantics. Transactions of form, flow and porosity are central to Rasheed’s work, conducting material and architectural experiments on Building by Evaporation and the Irrigation of Space. Rasheed will be sharing his research outcomes through public events and installations at the Fundació Enric Miralles until 20/05/2022.
