The Enric Miralles Foundation

The Fundació Enric Miralles is a center dedicated to architecture, design and contemporary research. Its mission is to keep alive Enric Miralles’ passion for innovation, experimentation and the transformation of the built environment.

Founded in 2011 by Benedetta Tagliabue – Enric’s life and studio partner – together with his family, the Fundació was born with the purpose of preserving and projecting the creative spirit of one of the most influential architects of his generation. Visionary, sensitive draftsman, brilliant teacher and passionate promoter of Barcelona’s urban future, Enric Miralles left a legacy that today inspires new generations.

From its headquarters in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, the Fundació organizes exhibitions, publications, workshops and international exchange programs. Each initiative seeks to promote architecture as a living language, open to dialogue and in constant evolution.

The Fundació holds the most complete archive of the work of Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue, becoming a reference center for researchers, students and professionals from all over the world. It also has an exhibition hall and two coworking spaces that host residencies, research projects and young talents in design and architecture.

More than an institution, the Fundació Enric Miralles is a platform of ideas. A meeting point for those who understand architecture as a way to explore, imagine and build the future.
